落水孩子自己爬上岸了，或许意味着新一代人挣扎着能够自救，而拉布德和法比安这一辈的青年只能在时代急流带来的痛苦漩涡里沉溺。这个早晨他轻快地出门，以为只是去柏林几天……每次离开都一定要好好告别，毕竟活着只是侥幸，死亡才是必然。
直到最后，累了，走了，逃离这个陌生陆离的城市，回到童年的家乡。只是过往的人和事一直折磨着千疮百孔的心，连最明媚的阳光也驱散不开。

所有“不合时宜”的人和事，与所处社会主流政治理念背道而驰的思想，都被淹没在历史的洪流中，正如电影的副标题，“走向毁灭”。
不过中途的故事实在是很老套，让人感觉不管什么时代什么国别男青年的忧伤都是那么点事。
